Andy Davies Memorial Trophy

22 November

Voted by members and presented by Anne Meyrick, this year the trophy was awarded to Margaret & Neil Murgatroyd.

During the close season of 2024\25 they made substantial contributions to our club. Responsible for building a new Bar Storage Cupboard and also converting the shelving area of the Bar to accommodate the new Chillers.

Neil and Margaret together constructed and upholstered a new seating facility in the Ladies changing room.

They organised and ran the Bingo sessions from October to March that benefited the club financially.

Margaret also provided, at no charge, 120 Scones for the Cream Teas that were much appreciated during Jim’s Charity Day.

17 August, two cup wins in one day!

Bitton Park retained the Featherstone Cup

The annual competition against Abbrook Park was played on our home green this year. The cup was presented by Club President Di Vodden, to our rink winning skips, Moira Webber & Maria Owalsky.

Section 5 retained the MDL Coronation Cup

Bitton Park members Phil Bucknall, Neil Murgatroyd, Terry Ash & Terry Evans joined players from Starcross, Shaldon, Newton Abbot & Dawlish Marina.

11 August was an excuse for a team photo to celebrate our run in the Grace Matthews, losing in the Q/F to Crediton at Topsham and also the 4,3,2,1 competition finishing as runners up to Kings at Paignton Torbay on 8 August.
